Malaysia Travel Trade Update: MedTravel Selangor and ITB Asia 2026

Two different opportunities shape this week’s Malaysia travel planning: a recent Selangor healthcare-tourism initiative and the approaching ITB Asia trade show in Singapore.

Tourism Selangor’s 15 October announcement introduced MedTravel Selangor: Heal & Explore during Malaysia Healthcare Expo Jakarta, held from 15–18 October 2026. It links healthcare with accommodation, transport and destination experiences. The announcement names Sunway Medical Centre, Subang Jaya Medical Centre and Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara among its featured healthcare institutions. This roundup follows Hari-Hari’s dedicated MedTravel report published on 18 October; it does not represent a second launch.

Indonesia: explore non-medical travel partnerships

For Indonesian patients and accompanying relatives, the practical travel arrangements can be as important as choosing dates. Hari-Hari can explore airport transfers, hotel stays and private transport with healthcare-travel facilitators. Medical appointments, treatment and clearance for activities remain the responsibility of qualified healthcare providers. Sightseeing should be optional, flexible and appropriate to the traveller’s circumstances.

  • Ask Tourism Selangor and MHTC about potential introductions to Indonesian facilitators and hospital visitor-support teams; confirm responsibilities before offering a joint service.
  • Prepare Bahasa Indonesia information separating hotel and transport arrangements from medical services. Do not imply that Hari-Hari provides treatment or is an appointed MedTravel partner.
  • For ITB Asia, check registration and meeting access before travelling. Prepare a concise two-page company profile and clear Malaysia ground-handling proposals.
  • Prioritise relevant overseas agencies and corporate planners. Record qualified contacts and requested programmes, then follow up with tailored proposals rather than a generic price list.

ITB Asia: 21–23 October in Singapore

ITB Asia, MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia take place at Sands Expo & Convention Centre from 21–23 October 2026. As checked on 19 October, the organiser advertises trade visitor registration and a listed three-day pass of SGD240 before 9% GST; confirm the final price and availability at checkout. The pass describes meeting slots with exhibitors. It does not guarantee appointments with hosted buyers. This is an imminent event reminder, not a new event announcement.

Turn introductions into practical Malaysia programmes

Hari-Hari Travel & Holidays can discuss Malaysia–Singapore group itineraries, educational visits, corporate incentives and MICE ground arrangements with overseas partners. Useful proposals start with group size, dates, budget, hotel standard and transport needs. For this week, our planning priority is to explore Selangor referral relationships while making a prompt, budget-based decision about ITB Asia attendance. Attendance and partnerships are not confirmed by this article.
