Tourism Selangor introduced MedTravel Selangor: Heal & Explore in its 15 October 2026 announcement during Malaysia Healthcare Expo Jakarta, held from 15–18 October at Central Park Mall. The initiative connects healthcare with accommodation, transport and destination experiences. Separately, organiser Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) confirmed that the expo brought together 21 Malaysian hospitals and two tourism boards: Tourism Selangor and Sarawak Tourism Board.

What this means for Indonesian visitors

A healthcare journey needs a different rhythm from a sightseeing holiday. Appointment times, rest, accessibility and the needs of accompanying relatives should shape the travel plan. Hari-Hari Travel’s role can be the non-medical arrangements: airport pickup, suitable accommodation, private transport and optional outings. Diagnosis, treatment and advice about fitness to travel remain with the visitor’s healthcare provider.

  • Transfers: share arrival details, luggage needs and any mobility requirements before a vehicle is confirmed. Ordinary private transport is not an ambulance or medical escort service.
  • Accommodation: choose a location around the confirmed hospital appointments, with suitable room access and space for accompanying relatives. Check cancellation terms and allow flexibility if appointments change.
  • Family time: companions may consider Kuala Lumpur or Selangor cultural visits while the patient rests. A patient’s participation in leisure activities depends on the treating team’s advice.
  • Travel agents: provide dates, party size, language needs and the required non-medical services. Healthcare providers should confirm medical appointments and treatment costs separately.

A flexible 4D3N planning idea

A possible outline starts with arrival and a hotel transfer on Day 1. Days 2 and 3 remain flexible around independently arranged appointments, rest and optional companion outings. Day 4 allows for departure only when appropriate. This is a travel-planning example, not a treatment package or a recommended recovery period; some journeys will need much longer stays.

Building responsible Malaysia–Indonesia partnerships

Hari-Hari Travel & Holidays can explore non-medical ground-handling cooperation with Indonesian travel agencies, healthcare-travel facilitators and hospital visitor-support teams. Our proposed first step is to ask Tourism Selangor and MHTC about introductions and confirm responsibilities with potential partners. No appointment as an official MedTravel partner or hospital referral agreement is implied by this article.
