Malaysia Airlines–China Southern codeshare expansion: China trade opportunities
Five additional Kuala Lumpur routes join the codeshare from 25 October 2026, creating a timely opportunity for Chinese-agent Malaysia programmes.

Malaysia Airlines announced on 29 September that its China Southern codeshare expands on 25 October 2026 to Shenzhen, Changsha, Xiamen, Chengdu Tianfu and Zhengzhou–Kuala Lumpur services. Together with Guangzhou, Beijing Daxing and Shanghai Pudong, eight Kuala Lumpur routes will be covered. Codesharing lets each airline market eligible services under its own flight code; it does not mean five newly launched routes. Malaysia Airlines also reports launching Chengdu, Shenzhen and Changsha services this year. Tourism Malaysia recorded about 1.4 million Chinese visitor arrivals in Q1 2026, up 25.2% year-on-year.
What this means for your Malaysia programme
Hari-Hari sees an opportunity to prepare Chinese-language B2B proposals before 25 October, starting with agencies in Chengdu and Shenzhen and extending to all five cities. Wider airline distribution may support sales; demand and competition still need agency-level research. Suggested products for confidential net-rate preparation:

- 5D4N Kuala Lumpur + Genting or Cameron Highlands: choose the highland extension to suit the group.
- 7D6N Kuala Lumpur + Penang or Langkawi: city experiences with heritage or island leisure.
- 7–9D Malaysia + Singapore: a tailored combined programme with planned border transfers.
- Separate corporate incentive/MICE proposals with hotels, meetings, transport and group activities.

These are product concepts, not published prices or a confirmed airline partnership. Reconfirm flight schedules, eligible codeshare services, seats and ground-service costs before quoting.
