Tourism organisers have until 31 October to apply for the Visit Selangor 2026 grant. Hari-Hari reviews its potential for international tourism partnerships.

Tourism Selangor’s announcement dated 4 May 2026 sets aside RM600,000 for tourism programmes and events. The five tiers are Pusing Selangor Dulu (RM3,000), Discover Selangor (RM5,000), Splendid Selangor (RM10,000), Surprising Selangor (RM15,000) and Selangor Kan Ada (RM20,000). Local private companies are among the eligible applicants. International visitors, global partnerships and benefits to Selangor’s tourism economy are priorities. This is a deadline reminder, not a newly launched grant.
What organisers should check before applying
The official guidelines describe reimbursement after an approved event, rather than upfront funding. They include tourism-focused B2B and B2C fairs, MICE and certain conferences or incentive events. FAM trips, website creation and promotion of a destination without an event are excluded. Selling an ordinary tour package does not establish eligibility.

- Timing: submit a complete application at least 30 working days before the event and no later than 31 October 2026. Eligible events must take place within the stated 2026 programme period, ending 31 December.
- Documents: prepare the proposal in Bahasa Melayu, registration documents, a budget and evidence of local tourism benefits. The guidelines link to an online form and require an emailed document copy to gptms@tourismselangor.my.
- Hari-Hari’s proposed next step: ask Tourism Selangor before 23 October about remaining funds and an international education-tourism partnership event in Selangor. This is an idea to evaluate, not an approved event or FAM trip.
- Travel partners: a well-designed event could connect overseas agencies and education representatives with local tourism suppliers. Define its audience, programme, venue and measurable benefits before committing expenditure.

Tourism Selangor can be contacted on +603 5513 2000. Funding availability, the appropriate tier and Hari-Hari’s eligibility require confirmation. Approval is not guaranteed. Overseas agencies, schools and corporate planners can discuss customised Malaysia ground arrangements with Hari-Hari independently of any grant application.
