A new tourism partnership brings international promotion, agent familiarisation visits and hotel stays into focus for Malaysia travel planning in 2026–2027.

The Star reported on 19 October 2026 that Tourism Malaysia and Berjaya Hospitality Group signed a memorandum of understanding supporting Visit Malaysia 2026–2027. The collaboration includes overseas sales missions, familiarisation trips for travel trade and media, joint packages and digital promotion. Berjaya’s international property network includes Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines and the United Kingdom, creating potential channels for introducing Malaysian destinations to overseas travellers.

What the hotel promotion actually offers

Berjaya’s official campaign lists bookings from 19 October to 31 December 2026 for stays from 19 October 2026 to 30 June 2027. It describes a minimum of two nights at city hotels or three nights at island and highland resorts. Crucially, the advertised up-to-70% saving is described as a return-stay benefit: a promotional code is issued at checkout for a subsequent stay, with a stated stay-validity end date of 31 December 2027. Initial property discounts vary. Check the hotel’s full terms before booking; this is not a blanket 70% reduction on every reservation.

  • Families and private travellers: compare the total itinerary cost, including transfers, room arrangements and activities, rather than choosing solely by the headline discount.
  • Overseas travel agents: request 2027 B2B and group quotations, room allocations, cancellation terms and confirmation of whether consumer promotions apply to agency bookings.
  • Corporate and incentive planners: confirm meeting space, meals, transport and group capacity separately. A room promotion does not establish an inclusive MICE package.
  • Familiarisation visits: explore hotel inspections and destination experiences with prospective partners. The agreement does not confirm a Hari-Hari FAM trip, appointment or referral pipeline.

Build a destination experience around the stay

For an international visitor, accommodation is one part of a Malaysia holiday. A Kuala Lumpur city stay could be paired with heritage walks and local food, while Langkawi can add island leisure to a longer itinerary. School and educational groups need programmes built around learning goals, supervision and suitable visits. These are Hari-Hari planning ideas, subject to dates, availability and supplier agreement.

A practical next step for Malaysia B2B cooperation

Hari-Hari Travel & Holidays can explore ground-handling cooperation with overseas agencies interested in Malaysia. Our recommended next step is to contact Berjaya’s commercial team for group rates and partnership discussions; its official campaign lists +603 2141 0088. Ask about hotel inspections, source-market introductions and booking conditions before promising joint products. This article does not establish a commercial relationship with Berjaya or Tourism Malaysia.
