Tourism Malaysia announced its partnership with Ant International’s Alipay+ on 13 October 2026. Under Visit Malaysia 2026–2027, the agreement brings together destination promotion, international payments and personalised travel discovery. Alipay+ Voyager is an AI assistant embedded in travellers’ digital wallets. It is intended to recommend Tourism Malaysia-verified cultural, food and other experiences. A planned travel-subsidy programme would offer visitors benefits for accommodation, transport and attractions. Alipay+ reports an ecosystem of more than two billion user accounts worldwide; that figure is not a forecast of bookings for any Malaysian operator.

Travel subsidies and DuitNow savings: what is confirmed?

Tourism Malaysia plans to offer accommodation, transport and attraction benefits through Alipay+ Voyager. The announcement also describes a separate campaign offering 20% savings through PayNet’s DuitNow at small local shops. These are different initiatives: the 20% figure is not a confirmed discount on tour packages, hotel stays or every DuitNow payment. Travellers should check participating merchants and the applicable offer terms before booking or paying.

  • Ask Tourism Malaysia’s Visit Malaysia Secretariat about operator eligibility, catalogue registration, booking arrangements and fees. The announcement lists Mohd Akbal Setia and telephone +603 8891 8006 as an enquiry contact.
  • Prepare clear product information for Kuala Lumpur–Genting–Melaka private tours, Malaysia–Singapore group itineraries and Kuala Lumpur cultural experiences. Include duration, transport, language options, accessibility and cancellation terms.
  • Keep traveller benefits separate from business funding. Any subsidy conditions and availability need confirmation before they appear in a customer quotation.
  • Measure qualified enquiries and completed bookings if participation becomes available. A large wallet network alone does not establish demand for Hari-Hari’s programmes.
  • Before changing package prices, ask Tourism Malaysia whether licensed DMCs, private tours, airport transfers and attraction packages can participate. Also ask whether a benefit could apply to a booking made on Hari-Hari’s own website, or only through a specified wallet or booking channel.

As checked on 15 October 2026, the cited announcements do not specify the new travel-subsidy programme’s launch date, eligibility rules or subsidy amounts. Merchant onboarding, participation fees and Hari-Hari’s eligibility remain unconfirmed. Do not assume that the separate 20% DuitNow promotion applies to Hari-Hari bookings. These are prospective traveller benefits, not a confirmed cash grant for Hari-Hari or an advertised discount on our tours.
